Starting early.. already?

Veggies. Yes, I said it. Veggies. Mommy and Daddy Spoon are trying to use the puppy dog to get me prepped early for my veggies. Just watch what they did after Daddy came back from taking Killer Khan out for a walk. I suspect they want to make an example out of him for me..

Well, Killer does like his vegetables. It seems broccoli is his new favorite.
He plays with it, sniffs at it, he even eats it!
Nom nom nom.. broccoli.
Killer seems to like his broccoli. Me? I'm not so sure. We'll see. I haven't figured out this veggies thing yet. But I hear potatoes are delicious...

The clock draws down...

Hullo, everyone. Baby Spoon is asleep, so I'm subbing in for tonight's entry.

We had a busy day today. The clock is drawing down and we're getting closer and closer to our special arrival. It's exciting and anxiety inducing at the same time. Mommy Spoon and I spent a much-needed day getting Baby Spoon's room put together. And yes, there are photos. I just don't have them on my camera. That blog post is a project for Mommy Spoon.

The last few weeks have been so furiously paced that I haven't had much time to reflect on the responsibility that comes with being a father. It is something that I look forward to. For a time, I didn't feel ready for that type of responsibility. Now I'm at a point in my adulthood where I feel mature enough to be a father, and confident enough to know that Mommy Spoon and I will do a fine job of being parents. We are a good team, and raising our precious little Spoon will be much easier with her help.

Yet for now, it's time to join Mommy and Baby in slumberland. Tomorrow will be another busy day! They always are. : )

To the finish line we go!

Grandma Spoon made a delicious dinner tonight. Yummy short ribs and baked potato. We all ate outside and oh, boy, I loooove eating ribs and potatoes. I said, 'nom nom nom, potatoes' and gave Mommy some enthusiastic kicks to let her know how happy I was to eat good, tasty food.

Afterwards, Mommy, Daddy and Grandma finished the night by playing a card game. Something called Uno...? -but I don't speak Spanish. I can't tell what the point of the game is either, but I did get to hear everyone talk trash about who was going to win...

After the game was over, Daddy Spoon took some more pictures of the two cutest Spoons to ever pass in front of a camera lens.
Hee hee! I'm growing so fast, Mommy Spoon is running out of t-shirts that fit me! I blame Daddy and Grandma. They make all the good food. How can I resist? It's so tasty, I don't mind feeling a bit cramped.
Ooooh! See? Now I have some breathing room! Look at Mommy Spoon! Hee hee, we are so cute!

Attack of the Kitty-Cats!

After breakfast today the kitty-cats invaded Daddy Spoon and attacked him. Mommy Spoon and I watched while Daddy gave each of them a nice relaxing back scratch. It was a purr-fest! One of the kitties even drooled on the floor! Hee hee hee. The kitties are so silly!
I don't think the kitties will be too happy when I'm around. They will start losing out on all this new attention they get from the Daddy Spoon. Why? It will all go to me, of course!
I like watching Daddy do nice things. He even takes time out to take care of the kitty cats. I know he will do nice things for me too! I can't wait!

Counting like we on Sesame Street

So we are reaching the two week mark. Baby Spoon is always excited to hear my voice, and Mommy's voice too. (That's still one of the coolest things ever. Seeing that tiny reaction going on) But we think our little spoon wants to stay tucked away for a little while longer. Seems someone does want to beat out the cousins as to who weighs the most.

So we're counting down, but with something like this ya can't really choose the due date. Mommy Spoon says we're at T-minus two weeks, but we'll see. Our precious little Baby Spoon seems perfectly content to stay hidden away for what seems like another week or two.

All I have to say is that we're excited about the names we're choosing. Baby Spoon is a cute nickname, but what we have in mind is far more adorably precious. Just you wait!

I don't mean to brag...

So at the doctor's today we learned that I have only three weeks to go. 3 weeks and here I come! I can't wait. Mommy and Daddy Spoon are rooting for me. They are excited too. Daddy Spoon thinks that I'll be a bigger baby than my cousins Aidan & Max. I hope so. I like having bragging rights.
Next week we go back for an ultrasound, so you can expect some more bragging then! Hee hee, I bet Aidan and Max need their diapers changed now...

A picture is worth a thousand words..

...and all of those words are meant to describe how cute I make Mommy look! I'll be a cutie too. Just you wait. I'll steal everyone's hearts!
Oh, boy, look at me! I am growing bigger and bigger!
I go to the Doctor again with Mommy and Daddy Spoon tomorrow. Hee hee, let's see if I can wake them up from the excitement. We'll see. I bet Daddy and Mommy want to sleep in. Hee hee, I'll show them. : P

Silly, silly, silliness!

Daddy is a silly guy. Gramma Spoon wanted him and Mommy to walk the chiwoo-woo around the block, but one of the kitty cats kept trying to get outside. So after taking the chiwoo-woo for a walk, Daddy Spoon put the kitty on a harness and took her for a walk too!! Silly Daddy! Kitties don't go for walks, only doggies do.
My Daddy is a silly goober. I hope he doesn't do anything like that with me!

MTV Cribs has nothin' compared to me...

I have a baby bed! And a dresser! Gramma Spoon found a fantastic deal on a lifetime convertible bed and dresser set, so Daddy Spoon put the bed together a few days ago. We've been very, very busy this week -which is why I haven't been able to get Daddy to post any pics until now.

Here are some pics so you can see Mommy Spoon put Daddy Spoon to work, so he can build my crib for me! (MTV has nothing on me)

See how big the box is?! It's almost as big as Daddy!
Mommy and I aren't too sure what to do in this empty box. We just don't know!
Mommy Spoon likes what she sees! This is going to be one cool crib!
Daddy Spoon hard at work. Putting together my crib for me! I love my Daddy Spoon! He takes good care of me!
Daddy Spoon is angling for a better way to attach the final piece to my crib. This one was a problem because the metal piece was slightly bent out of place. But Daddy fixed it. He's a smart Daddy Spoon.
Mommy Spoon and I are happy with the new crib!
Daddy is happy too!
We are all happy with the crib and dresser! I am stylin' and profilin' today! (And kisses from Daddy Spoon are never a bad thing either)
So those are some of our fun, fun, fun photos! (I think Mommy and Daddy like taking pictures of me maybe a little too much) I am happy with my bed and dresser. I'm sure that Mommy Spoon and I will be getting many nice things at the baby shower today to go in the bed and dresser that Daddy put together. Oooh, so exciting! I can't wait!!
And I love Mommy too! Yep, yep, yep! : )

April Showers bring May Flowers

Mommy says that April showers bring May flowers. Or vegetables. Mommy has been working a lot in the garden lately. Daddy has been helping too. They are excited because they already have a lot of tiny vegetable plants starting to grow. I think later on they want to mash these veggies up into baby food for me. I'm not sure how I feel about that...
Today is my Baby shower. I am very excited for it. I woke up Mommy Spoon very early today. I couldn't help it. When I get excited, the whole world has to know. So Mommy and Daddy were up early with me today. I performed for them. I just can't wait for my Baby shower! A whole group of people there to see me! I will perform for them too -if I have the energy for it.

If April showers bring May flowers, I wonder what my Baby shower will bring...

Softly as the lights fade...

Hullo, everyone. Daddy Spoon here. Baby Spoon is busy taking a nap, so I figured I'd post some new photos of our two favorite spoons: The Momma & Baby Spoons.
The story behind the spoon nicknames is that early on while we were dating, Momma & I began to call each other "big spoon" and "little spoon" because we were such a perfect fit for each other -like two spoons stacked next to one another. When we learned about the fantastic baby news -and me, wanting to keep the baby's gender a surprise- it was a natural progression to call each other by new nicknames: "Daddy Spoon," "Mommy Spoon" and even "Baby Spoon."
And so I have a lot of fun taking pictures of our hot Mamacita & Babykins Spoons. Mmmm-hmmm... look at that. Mommy Spoon is so electrifying, she turns the wattage into hottage.
I think it goes without saying that there is a lot of love and excitement in our small, new family for the arrival of our Baby Spoon.

So that is the story behind the spoon nicknames, and I'll be sure to keep taking photos as time goes on. I doubt I'll run out of material to photograph with a Mamacita as foxy as this one! [Translation: Rawr!] I'll bet our Baby Spoon will be just as much fun to take pictures of as the Mommy Spoon.

Battle of the Babies

Daddy Spoon took some more photos of Mommy Spoon and I after lunch today. Mommy and I think Daddy Spoon is very excited about being a parent. He takes lots and lots of pictures of us.I agree with Daddy Spoon. Mommy is all kinds and types of beautiful. She makes me happy and takes very good care of me!
Here I am getting a hug from Mommy Spoon. I like hugs. I like getting kisses from Daddy Spoon too. They are very tickly when he forgets to shave!
Today he used a special camera lens for the pictures. It's called a "Lensbaby" but I don't think it looks anything like me. I'm much cuter than it is!

Doctor, doctor, give me the news..

Today was another exciting day. Mommy, Daddy and I went to see the doctor today.

I woke up Mommy Spoon early this morning because I was so excited to go to the doctor's today. So Daddy Spoon was woken up to keep Mommy company while I performed for them.

I think Daddy wanted to go back to sleep because he tried to talk to me and calm me down. Sometimes it works. I like the sound of Daddy Spoon's voice. But I was too excited today to calm down. I was even threatened to be grounded -I don't know what that means- but I'm pretty sure that Daddy Spoon fell back asleep before he could enforce whatever grounding is. I hope it doesn't have anything to do with electricity...

Hoppy Easter!

Today was Easter.

I had a good day. I woke up Mommy Spoon early because I wanted to tell her about Easter. I was excited. Easter only happens once a year.

Dinner tonight was very yummy. Mommy Spoon and Gramma made a yummy feast. Daddy Spoon was excited for dinner too. We ate ham and scalloped potatoes with bread rolls and fruit salad. Daddy Spoon ate too much. He eats more than I do. I think he gets more excited about food than I do.

After dinner, Daddy Spoon took a few pictures of me and Mommy Spoon. Here they are:
I like getting my picture taken. So does Mommy. See how excited she is?
Here is another photo. I had Mommy move her hand out of the way. I wanted to be in the picture too!

Easter is a special holiday. I listened to Daddy read to me why Easter is so special: He read me this. And this. I can't wait to learn more about Easter next year!
